Shaun's client, who he had represented successfully at trial on its lien claims, was found to be entitled to doubled costs for an offer it extended before trial. The court found that the earlier letter offer, which the defendant did not accept, coupled with the defendant's conduct at trial, and the underlying purpose of the Builder's Lien Act, warranted an award of double costs from the date of the offer.
